Facebook Ads Agency in Ghana: How to Choose One (and What to Ask)
Hiring an ads agency can save you months of trial and error, or it can drain your budget. The difference is usually in how well you choose. Use this checklist before you sign anything.
First, know what you need
Agencies differ. Some only run ads. Others also handle creative, tracking, websites and email. Decide what you need:
- Someone to run and improve your ads.
- Help with photos, video and copy.
- Tracking and reporting set up properly.
- Advice on the offer and the website.
Write down your goal in one sentence, such as "30 qualified leads a month at under GH₵ 40 each" (an example only, not a market benchmark). A good agency will help you make that goal realistic.
Questions to ask every agency
- Who will actually manage my account? You want a named person with real experience, not only a salesperson.
- Can you show results from similar businesses? Ask for examples with real numbers, and what was done to get them.
- How do you set goals and measure success? Look for answers about leads, sales and cost per result, not "reach" and "likes."
- How do you track conversions? Pixel, conversions setup and WhatsApp tracking should be part of the work.
- How often will I get reports, and what is in them? Ask to see a sample.
- Who owns the ad account and data? It should be yours. You should be able to leave and take everything with you.
- What does it cost and what is included? Know the agency fee, and that ad spend is separate and paid to Meta.
- What do you need from me? Quick replies, photos, offers and access to sales data all matter.
Red flags
- Guaranteed sales or "guaranteed" results.
- No clear answer on who owns the account.
- Long, locked contracts with no way out.
- Vague reports full of impressions and no business results.
- Pressure to spend a large budget before anything has been tested.
- Cheap "boost" packages that are really just automatic settings.
- They take your ad budget into their own account without clear records.
How fees usually work
Common models are a monthly retainer, a percentage of ad spend, a fixed project fee, or a mix. A fixed monthly fee is simple to plan. A percentage of spend can push an agency to raise your budget, so ask how they avoid that. Fees vary widely between agencies and there is no standard rate in Ghana, so compare written quotes line by line and check what each one includes. Ad spend is paid separately to Meta.
What to expect in the first 90 days
- Weeks 1 to 2: audit, tracking setup, audience and creative plan.
- Weeks 3 to 6: launch, test, learn what resonates.
- Weeks 7 to 12: scale what works, cut what does not, report clearly.
Be wary of anyone who promises stable, low-cost results in the first week. Good ad accounts learn first, then grow.
Start small if you are unsure
Ask about a short pilot with clear goals. It lets you see how the agency works before you commit long term. Osidion offers an 8-week pilot for this reason.
The takeaway
Choose an agency that is clear about who does the work, how results are measured, and who owns the account. Honest answers and clear reports matter more than big promises.
